ContinuitySA Develops New Business Continuity Solution for MPLS Clients

July 31, 2012
By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

ContinuitySA, an African provider of business continuity management and related services, has recently launched a new business continuity solution for corporations using MPLS networking provided by Internet Solutions.

“We noticed how many of our clients were putting in point-to-point links between our facilities and Internet Solutions,” said Shaheen Kalla, technical consultant at ContinuitySA, and leader of the development team, in a press release. “It made more sense to offer Internet Solutions clients the benefits of a single, large pipe between ContinuitySA and Internet Solutions.”

The new solution has immediate capacity for up to 10 clients, and has been designed to scale up to 150 clients.

The company’s fiber gigabit-per-second link to Internet Solutions gives clients access to bandwidth on demand for disaster recovery purposes. The link also effectively makes ContinuitySA an extension of the Internet Solutions network.

Additionally, the new service can now be seamlessly integrated into clients' existing MPLS networks which also means a quicker turnaround time for implementation.

“Some of South Africa's leading organizations use Internet Solutions' MPLS networks and they are constantly looking for ways to perform the replication and backup they require for enterprise-grade business continuity,” Kalla added. “Our new solution integrates that capability seamlessly onto their existing networks.”

By leveraging this solution, clients will be allowed to purchase dedicated bandwidth on this link for the purposes of business continuity. The new solution uses cutting-edge and is “always on”, which means clients can use their dedicated bandwidth to access their computing capacity at ContinuitySA, whether real or virtual, for activities outside of business continuity.

In related MPLS news, TMCnet reported that SL Power Electronics, a designer and manufacturer of industrial and medical power supplies, replaced its MPLS deployment worldwide with Aryaka's (News - Alert) optimized network in order to increase the speed of applications for improved file sharing and better productivity gains.
