Silver Peak Systems Expands MPLS Portfolio by Introducing New Virtual Products
Silver Peak (News - Alert) Systems, a firm that provides enterprises with the best that MPLS has to offer, has recently added new virtual products to its line including the VX-500 for small remote sites and the VX-6000 and VX-7000 for data centers, regional offices and disaster recovery sites.
The new products will help to significantly broaden the capabilities powered by the company’s high-performance virtual solutions in addition to enhancing its leadership position in the virtual WAN optimization space.
"With the addition of our new virtual products, Silver Peak continues to lead the industry with the fastest and most cost-effective software solutions for moving large amounts of data between any size data center, branch or disaster recovery site," said Damon Ennis, vice president of product management for Silver Peak, in a press release.
He further added, "The Silver Peak virtual marketplace and our software-based solutions have revolutionized the delivery, deployment and pricing of WAN optimization. All of our software solutions are available for free, self-service trials directly from our website, allowing anyone to start accelerating their data mobility immediately."
While the VX-500 accelerates smaller networks with up to two megabits-per-second of throughput and is ideal for remote sites with T1/E1 MPLS or cable/DSL connections, the offering also supports up to 8,000 simultaneous connections which is up to 400 times more than the competitive products.
On the other hand, the Silver Peak VX-6000 and VX-7000 complement the company’s mid-range products, providing acceleration for 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps connections respectfully.
All of the Silver Peak virtual products are now available for download directly from the Silver Peak Virtual Marketplace.
In related news, TMCnet has reported that the company has also unveiled Silver Peak’s Virtual Acceleration Open Architecture 5.2, which helps enterprises to overcome WAN bandwidth, quality, and distance barriers in public cloud deployments. This platform is also touted as upping the ante on MPLS functionality across any network.
