AFRICONNECT Launches MPLS Solution
AFRICONNECT, a provider of sustainable Internet solutions to the developing world, has recently unveiled its robust MPLS solution in the country of Zambia.
In a statement, Matt Madzima, company managing director said, “This was yet another business milestone in the success story of AfriConnect family since its recent acquisition by VodaCom Business Africa in 2010, which came with major injection of capital. This has translated into significant benefits in terms of network expansion, further stabilization and resilience and access to a pan-Africa infrastructure and support service.”
Several banking organizations and other businesses in the past years have also engaged in MPLS connectivity within the Copperbelt mainly because of the extremely encouraging investment trends taking place here that are also now emerging strongly in the North Western Province.
Copperbelt Mining, Agriculture and Commercial Show Society Chairperson Bill Osborne has described the Copperbelt as the life blood of Zambia’s economy, adding that organizations that focus their investment and growth in the province were bound to get maximum returns on their investment.
The recently launched MPLS network was a capital intensive project that involved the replacing of all old units and was expected to cut a large number of expenses. The project has already started and hopefully will be finished by month end of November.
By launching MPLS connectivity into the Copperbelt market, AfriConnect has also ensured that its operations can fully support the growing needs of various companies in the area.
In related news, TMCnet recently reported that the company has deployed the Aradial AAA and Policy Control solution to provide Wimax and future LTE (News - Alert) services to the city of Lusaka and several other major cities in Zambia.
