MPLS Provider Wins Big, Highlighted as ITEXPO Austin 2012 Best of Show Winner
Founded in 2001, UNSi has continued to find itself on the Inc. 500|5000 list for being one of the fast-growing private companies and is touted as powering a next-generation network that offers a high level of performance as well as a nationwide MPLS network and multiple network center operations.
IT companies throughout the country turn to the MPLS provider in order to create, monitor, secure and manage their networks and just last week, the company was presented with the Best of Show Award in the Best Service Provider Solution category.
“The breadth of products and solutions that are showcased in this year’s ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin Exhibit Hall have raised the bar in terms of innovation and quality within the communications and technology industries,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC (News - Alert) CEO and conference chairman, in a statement. “We’re pleased to honor the Best of Show Award winners, and we congratulate them for differentiating themselves in various technology categories amongst a large and highly competitive field.”
It was the MPLS provider’s Same IP Failover Solution (SIF) that was presented with this prestigious honor and it’s not hard to see why this business continuity and disaster recovery solution is continuing to garner attention. Located between UNSi’s primary on-net (MPLS/DIA) circuits and broadband back-up circuit, SIF was created from the ground up in order to seamlessly integrate various Internet services that would enable any company to reduce downtime if they were to suffer from an Internet connection going down by automatically being transferred to a back-up Internet connection while keeping the same IP Addresses.

This offering is comprised of three components including an on-net component, a broadband component and a managed CPE component.
UNSi made headlines last month when it unveiled major network upgrades in the Midwest region of the United States. It expanded UNSi Dallas and Denver Points-of-Presence (POP’s) to full Border Gateway (News
- Alert) Interconnects (BGI’s) providing a full suite of MPLS, VPLS, DIA and Carrier Ethernet Services at each facility. The company has also built out a full BGI at its newest POP in St. Louis, Mo.
“Our continued investment in our MPLS and Ethernet capabilities is all part of the exciting growth strategy we have implemented and are experiencing at UNSi,” said Fran John, president and CEO of UNSi at the time.
